Something about US...

Angelica and Teodora, friends forever and now finally together also in the realization of their dream. A desire that, with passion and courage, has become the expression of a special understanding, of the same way of showing off life. An intense love for fashion and for travel to distant lands.

How was Maria born?

Rajasthan has literally bewitched them with the unique colors of spices and precious stones, fairy-tale architectures in pastel colours, ideal frames that inspire the precious fabrics born of a millenary tradition such as finely hand-embroidered silks. Thus was born Marèja, a clothing line that enhances the precious Indian fabrics, hand-embroidered, with western and modern shapes. They love to define their "ageless" image by enhancing women through a timeless style. With the use of precious fabrics and embroideries suitable for an international and unconventional style, they therefore want to express the refinement of a distant culture that finds a new meaning in the contemporary woman's exciting desire to live.

Three adjectives for Marèja

Our creations are elegant, timeless and never conventional.

The wine you are most attached to?

Jackets and dusters are the identifying garments and the guiding principle of the brand. Made in silk and hand embroidered in cotton. The precious embroideries are made according to an ancient process that allows you to create wonderful and fascinating designs. With a straight but soft line at the same time, it is suitable for every season and every occasion, to play down during the day or to emphasize in the evening.

Projects for the future?

We are two women who are building their own business following their vision, despite the many difficulties. Today's fashion sustainability efforts are often focused on the impact of the industry on the planet. It's vital that those who make our clothes are not left out of the conversation. “Sustainability means taking care of nature and people”. We work with skilled craftswomen in Rajasthan, North India, through which we revive traditional embroidery techniques that have gone out of fashion and, as women, we would like to help them, providing them with help for a better future. We would also have the well-being of Indian girls at heart by offering them a training bonus by donating part of our proceeds to charity to an Indian girls' orphanage. Marèja means standing together for all these “Stronger united” values.
